Hello and welcome! I am excited to introduce myself as the Director of ART AND SOUL MONTESSORI, a company that is passionate about providing exceptional Montessori education to young learners.

With over 15 years of experience in early childhood education and leadership, I am dedicated to creating a supportive, innovative, and inclusive environment that inspires children to learn and grow.

I hold an International Montessori Teaching Certificate from North America Montessori and MBA in Human Resources from University of Canada and have dedicated my career to advancing the Montessori philosophy and advocating for quality early childhood education.

As the Director of ART AND SOUL MONTESSORI, my mission is to ensure that our programs meet the highest standards of excellence. I work closely with our team of educators, administrators, and support staff to develop and implement innovative curriculum, foster a culture of ongoing learning and professional development, and promote the highest level of care for our students.

I believe that Montessori education is one of the most powerful ways to inspire children to be lifelong learners, independent thinkers, and compassionate individuals. I am committed to upholding the principles of Montessori education and to creating a supportive community that fosters the growth and development of every child.

Pooja Maggu

Hi everyone, my name is Pooja Maggu. My childcare career spans over 15 years and as a true Montessorian, I always loved and respected the “independent child” approach.

I have working as a part of core leadership team at the Art and Soul Montessori for over 7 years. In our new structure of Licensed Family Day Homes Agency, I am excited to serve in a new role as Assistant director and look forward to providing leadership support to our team.

I take great pride in knowing that our agency is one that strives for excellence and quality in child care while promoting the Montessori education. We have a wonderful complement of staff; our lovely educators who are dedicated and truly amazing at what they do.

Part of my role as Director is to keep abreast of, and advocate for the Early Childhood educators, provide them with leadership support and guidance to help create stimulating and quality environment for children.

I am a proud mother of two beautiful daughters and have a very loving and supportive husband with whom I love spending my time going for vacation or watching movies at home.

Hi, My name is Solidad Atkinson. I was born in Philipines. I’ve travelled and worked around the world and for the last 10 years, I have been living in Canada. I found my passion about 7 years ago educating and taking care of children.

Anu Jaggi

Hi, I am Anu Jaggi. I have 10+ years of rich experience, working with children of different age groups varying from elementary to high school. I moved to Calgary in 2019 and since then I have been working as a childcare educator.

I started my career in Information Technology as a Computer Engineer but my love towards children motivated me to pursue my further education and career in Childcare Services.My favourite part about being an educator is supporting and guiding the children’s educational journeys and providing them with a strong foundation for all their future learning.

Surbhi Singh

Hi, I am Surbhi Singh. I moved to Calgary in 2018. Prior to coming to Canada, after Post Graduation and B.Ed, I taught elementary classes for 10 years at reputed schools in India. I have been working in childcare for the last four years in Calgary. I love being with children and find it difficult to tear myself away from the little ones I have taught.

I am passionate about teaching, creating friendly and welcoming environments, incorporating diverse materials, and helping children learn to thrive in their new settings. I have Level I in Early Childhood Education, Montessori Early Childhood Teacher Training from NAMC and attended various webinars and courses. I also hold an up to date First Aid/CPR, Intervention record check and police clearance.

Hello, my name is Megan McCourt-Agyei and I am excited to be a part of the team here at Art and Soul Montessori Family Day Home! I have over 15 years of experience working in various child care settings and I am looking forward to sharing my expertise and experience as a Day Home Consultant. I have my diploma in Early Childhood Education from Algonquin College in Ottawa, Ontario.

I have a strong passion for ECE and believe that children learn best when they are permitted to fully experience the world around them. I believe in creating rich, quality, nurturing early childhood environments that foster independence and promote exploration and hands on learning all while maintaining the importance of safety.

I spent most of my life living in Quebec and Ontario but I have been happily living and working in Calgary for the last 12 years. I am married to my high school sweet heart and together we have four beautiful kids- two boys and two girls. We are an active, outdoor loving family and you can often find us outside in the mountains, hiking or biking or curled up on the couch for family movie night!

Education: After earning a Diploma in Early Childhood Education from Algonquin College (Ontario), I entered the early learning and child care field to explore my passion for child development. In addition, I obtained the Level 3 Certification (Early Childhood Development Supervisor) in the Province of Alberta in 2014. Currently, I am continuing my post-secondary education in Child Studies, Majoring in ELCC at MRU which I’m very interested in.

Work experience: I have relevant work experience in the field for more than ten years including diverse internship exposure to different childcare environments (conventional daycare centers, Children’s Aid Society, nursery schools, and Montessori programs) along with operating my own day home. I joined the Art and Soul Montessori Childcare Inc. team because I believe that my skills, experience, and passion make me excel in child psychology which I am completing as my Minor.

Favorite part of the job: I enjoy providing ongoing support and training to our Day Home Educators to help create inclusive early learning and childcare environment for children. I enjoy meeting new people, new cultures, and having the opportunity to mentor others through sharing my knowledge and experience in child development.
